The Jaguar, Mark II, S type, with the 3.8 liter engine, was a technically more sophisticated development of the highly successful Mark II. It was produced from 1963 to 1968 with a total production of 15,065. 1,008 were produced in 1967. Technical and styling advantages over the Mark II included; . A. The sophisticated, widely acclaimed "independent rear suspension". B. A higher geared 'Burman Power Steering", unit with only 3.5 turns lock-to-lock. C. Styling - The rear end was extended, new slim line bumpers, wraparound indicators and low mounted side lights. The roof line was lowered, larger rear window and Frenched head lights. This particular car has been well cared for and the original leather interior is in extremely good condition. All of the interior wood is beautifully finished. The exterior appears to have been re-painted at some point in beautiful Old English White which has held up markedly well. The chrome is in terrific shape and new tires have just been mounted on the chrome wire wheels. An Electronic Ignition System was added along with new spark plugs, new spark plug wires and a new coil for dependability.
