In 1987 a total of 200 Avanti's were produced and ONLY 54 were convertibles. Over the entire production of the Avanti ONLY approximately 230 convertibles were produced. This rare beauty has a beautiful exterior paint job and a gorgeous leather interior that is less than a year old. After the Studebaker company closed the doors, the Avanti Brand was sold to a large Studebaker Dealer. That dealer and three other companies kept the Avanti alive producing just a few cars per year. At this time a Chevy 305 with a GM automatic transmission with overdrive (complete drive train) was installed. This is a California car and as best I can determine, this car is in need of nothing. All systems have been inspected including the cold A/C. The top is in almost new condition. The beautiful leather interior is new. Also new tires and brakes.
